Management
Dysentery can be treated with the following procedures and medications:
. Antibiotics (many strains of shigella are becoming resistant to common antibiotics);
. Antiparasitic medications;
. Replace fluids that were lost by diarrhea;
. Getting plenty of rest; and
. Washing hands with soap and water after using the bathroom or touching any contaminated bedding or clothing.
