The main way to keep from getting the flu is to get a yearly flu vaccine. The most common is the trivalent influenza vaccine (TIV), which includes purified and inactivated material from two influenza A virus subtypes and one influenza B virus strain.
The two classes of antiviral drugs used against influenza are neuraminidase inhibitors and M2 protein inhibitors. Others drugs can be prescribed to relieve the fever and other symptoms associated with the flu.
    Complementary Treatment
People with flu must be allowed to rest in warm and well ventilated environment, increase the drink of liquids and avoid alcohol and tobacco.
