Multiple sclerosis has no cure. Treatments are focused to slow down the progress of the disease and reduce symptoms. Medicaments based on interferon beta-1a and beta-1b can slow down the progression of the disease.

The prescription of medicines must be also combined with rehabilitation strategies, which may include:

- Aerobic exercises, which may help to improve memory problems.
- Dancing can help to reduce the loss of coordination.
- Occupational therapy.
- Cognitive rehabilitation.
- Calm environment. It is very helpful for stress management.
