Description
Swine influenza A (H1N1), also called swine flu or pig flu, is an infection caused by a relatively new virus that contains genetic material from human, swine and avian flu viruses. It is named for a virus that pigs can get. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections happen. The virus is contagious and can spread from human to human.
Diagnosis
Swine flu is definitively diagnosed by identifying the particular antigens associated with the virus type.
